Location:
Monterey College of Law

Shame on you, ACLU! The ACLU of Northern California opposed the San Francisco Male Genital Mutilation Bill, a San Francisco ballot initative that would have granted male minors protection from all non-medically-necessary genital surgery including routine infant circumcision. Furthermore, the ACLU of Northern California continued to disregard the human right to bodily integrity by endorsing AB 768, the recently-passed California state law which prohibits cities from restricting male circumcision.

Intactivists hold signs in Sacramento on the day of the AB 768 public hearing.

Oust the sexual oppressors! Senator Mark Leno, Senator Leland Yee, Assemblymember Tom Ammiano, and Supervisor John Avalos all worked to deny the sexual freedom of men through their opposition of the San Francisco Male Genital Mutilation Bill and their endorsement of AB 768, the recently-passed California state law which prohibits cities from restricting male circumcision. It is time to cut sexual oppressors out of politics and to stop cutting babies.

The vigil was organized in response to a male circumcision panel discussion that took place inside the synagogue on the same evening.
